Update: It has been a long old while since we’ve written an update on the QDII program, mainly because there hasn’t exactly been much to report. And it’s not like anyone, ourselves included, is anything but frustrated by the state of outbound investment. However, while it has seemed all quiet on the eastern front, Chinese institutions and managers are still doing what they can to service demand for offshore exposure in a quota-scarce environment. As we head into what will likely be another cold winter for QDII quota, Z-Ben Advisors looks at what global managers can still do with the channels and flows currently available.
